Seasonal Adventure Tech
Spring/Summer 2025: High Trek Adventures is currently seeking applications for the position of Adventure Techs. The positions require outgoing, adventurous, and safety conscious individuals. Adventure Techs are responsible for communicating with and guiding guests during their experience at High Trek Adventures. They ensure an unforgettable and safe adventure as they help encourage and/or guide participants through the ropes course, ziplines, laser tag, axe throwing, rock climbing and more. Adventure Techs enjoy helping people, love the outdoors and the thrill of working with a team.
Start Date: March 2025- July 2025, based on applicant availability.
End Date: August 2025- October 2025, based on applicant availability.
Hours: Position can require Full Time (30-40 hours/week) during Peak Season (Late Spring to Summer).
**Candidates seeking more than 20 hours/week of employment, weekend shifts will be required. **
Hours of employment are dependent on business demands.
Compensation: Starting wage $17.00 - $19.00 per hour.
Primary responsibilities: Position covers the business of high ropes course, rock climbing, laser tag and axe throwing.
- Fit helmets and harnesses for guests and familiarize them with the safety equipment to be used during their experience.
- Conduct safety demonstrations and training sessions and consistently assess the needs of guests while in the course.
- Setting up the laser tag field, operate games and games software.
- Use of Point-of-Sale system.
- Checking in customers and providing positive interactions.
- Engage and build a relationship with guests while on the course.
- Supervise the use of all equipment.
- Provide and document thorough daily inspections of equipment and opening and closing duties of the site.
- Operating the zipline activity including performing assists, retrievals and rescues as needed.
- Set up the axe cages, teach axe throwing techniques and safety along with tips to throwing for customers.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Promote a safe and enjoyable attitude at all times with guests and staff to ensure a positive lifelong memory.
- Assist in grounds and site maintenance as needed.
- Assist with any other duties that may be assigned.
- Complying with and enforcing the policies, procedures, and regulations of High Trek Adventures.
Qualifications for Preferred Candidates:
- College students are encouraged to apply.
- 18 years of age or older for certified positions.
- Teens age 16-17 eligible for some positions.
- Ability to engage with guests of all ages in individual and group settings while being creative and personable.
- Commitment to safety and an attention to detail.
- Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Have full range of motion and the ability to hike, climb, rappel, and assist guests at heights.
- Must have evening and weekend availability and flexible weekday availability.
- Be able to perform all job functions for long periods of time in all weather conditions on the ground and/or at heights.
- Be able to attend and pass site specific zipline course training (if required).
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must have the physical capability to maneuver themselves as well as assist and accommodate participants throughout the course, including rescue scenarios if needed.
- Must be able to walk, stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 Hours.
- Must be able to work at various heights.
- Must have full range of overhead arm motions and full hand dexterity.
- Requires visual acuity and the ability to hear clearly in an outdoor environment.
- Must be able to assist guests up to 265 lbs. from zipline cables (with rescue assist equipment). As well as pull/push participants along each cable and platforms incline (if required).
- Be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull on a regular continuous basis.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
Training: Onsite training for Rope course certification (ages 18+) will be conducted over two days.
Seasonal Youth Camp Staff
Spring/Summer 2025: High Trek Adventures is currently seeking applications for the position of Summer Camp Counselors. The positions require outgoing, adventurous, and safety conscious individuals. Camp counselors are responsible for communicating, watching, guiding, overseeing and working with our campers. High Trek summer camp goals are to facilitate learning in fun and creative ways while ensuring a safe environment for campers in various camps throughout the summer. Our counselors will go above and beyond to encourage and inspire, work with fellow staff and become an integral part of the High Trek team. This is an active outdoor position that can either be full time with cross-training or part time.
Start Date: June 2025 (As early as April/May for staff willing to cross train)
End Date: August 2025 (As late as October 31 for staff willing to cross train)
Hours: Flexible and seasonally affected. During camp sessions, 25 hours/week (Late June - Early August) & up to 40 hours per week for cross trained staff, full time may require weekend availability. Variable, 0-24 for cross trained staff in the shoulder-seasons (March - May and September - October).
Compensation: Starting wage $17.00 - $19.00 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise groups of children up to 10 per group.
- Setting up for camp in the morning; cleaning up after camp in the afternoon.
- Facilitating camp activities.
- Provide leadership and supervision during activities.
- Give safety instructions and provide a safe environment for youth to learn while having fun.
- Maintain grounds for the ropes course site, camp areas specifically.
- Counselors may have the opportunity to be cross trained in other areas of the business, if desired.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will be:
- 16 years of age or older.
- Team player who is willing to pitch in and help where needed.
- High energy and passion for working with kids.
- Passionate about working as an integral member of the High Trek team.
- First Aid/CPR certification a plus.
- Adaptable to group dynamics with the ability to change an activity to meet the group needs.
- Prompt and reliable.
- Ability to climb in our ropes course to assist campers.
- Candidates will possess the ability to pass a background check.
Training: High Trek Camp Counselors will have approx. 2 to 3 days of training prior to start of camp.
